Spring has been busy, but I have my Starbucks Chai in hand now. Let's catch up a bit!
Most recently took the old sailboat up to Detroit Lake for a few days of quiet, anchored in a cove at the back of the lake. I was approaching the hills just as the sun was banking over the top in an amazing display. I pushed the tiller over and dove into the cabin for the camera. As the boat spun in circles I managed to capture a small piece of the beauty you see above.
The next day I happened to look up at the perfect moment, this spectacular Thomas Kinkade painting playing out in front of me. Just a few precious minutes of perfect light before the sun moved beyond the reach of the narrow valley walls.

Of course hauling the sailboat to the mountain lake means getting it ready in the weeks before. And this year that meant packing the trailer bearings. Joy.

And before that there was valve timings to mess with on the motorcycle. Some beautiful precision engineering going on in there.

The tulips came up in that odd place behind the garage again. We rescued them, naturally.

And someone asked me to take a shot of the Fuji X-E1 after using it for a full year, the camera behind these visual stories, so here it is capturing it's own likeness.
