Sunday afternoon I rode up through the Willamette National Forest on the Honda NC-700X along with my Fuji X-E1. (Here's the route) This time I strapped a tripod tube onto the bike, something I wished I had along for my Highway 101 ride a few weeks ago.
It was a relaxing ride, with my final stop being absolutely spectacular - the Sahalee and Koosah falls on the McKenzie river, right off Highway 126. I've never been to this point before, well worth the entire ride!
The light wasn't great for spectacular shots, but I grabbed the camera anyway. Walking a few miles right alongside the opal waters moving swiftly through smooth lava canyon walls is amazing. The falls themselves are frustratingly difficult to frame through the tight openings in the typically thick Oregon rainforest forest. I would love to see this spot again later in the year, when the sunlight will angle more steeply through the trees, dappling the mossy banks with spots of warmth.
